What is it?

I wrote Ahplus to help me make money at the Auction House. Bidding on various goods and reselling them for profit was very tedious, and Ahplus makes it much easier.

Ahplus depends on PriceDB (included in the download) which keeps track of how much various items are worth. Unlike other item databases, this database only contains items that you are interesting in trading, and only records prices. You decide which items to include in PriceDB and you set the prices.

Setting Prices

Your price for an item is the price at which you think the item would sell. Ahplus sets this as the buyout price for your auctions. You want this price to be high enough for you to make money, but low enough that people think it's a bargain and snap it up.

Your price is the price per item, not per stack. Maybe [Linen Cloth] goes for 40s a stack on your server. Your price would be 2s, since there are 20 pieces of [Linen Cloth] in a stack. If you enter 40s as a fair price for [Linen Cloth] Ahplus will bid on all of it (unless there are some crazy price-gougers out there, and resell it for 8g a stack. No one would bid, and you would lose a lot of money.

Cheap auctions are auctions with bids below your price by a certain amount. You set this amount with the "Automatic Bid Limiter" slider on the Options Frame. If you set this to 80%, Ahplus considers an auction cheap if its price is no more than 80% of yours.

Mini-Panel

At the top of the screen, between the TargetFrame and the Minimap, there is a new panel, which summarizes important information:

There are also four buttons on the new panel:

Browse Tab Changes

No bids If there are no bids on an auction, Ahplus adds "No Bids" in red in the "Seller" column. If there are no bids on an auction, it's likely the price is too high.

The icons change color depending on the price of the auction:

The right half of the Mini-Panel shows:

These values should help you determine the market rate for the item, so you can set the best price.

Bid Tab Changes

On this tab, the right half of the Mini-Panel shows:

Auction Tab Changes

Click on this tab and get a the following information on the Mini-Panel:

Drag an item into the "Auction item" slot. Both Starting Price and Buyout Price are filled in for you.

If your price for an item is less than three times the vendor price, your Starting Price would be less than the default starting price. Ahplus checks for that and uses the larger of the two values.

Click on the "Browse" tab with an item in the "Auction Item" slot and Ahplus will search for that item. This lets you compare prices with what's on AH right now. If you change the price of the item with the minipanel, the Starting Price and Buyout Price will be updated when you click back to the "Auctions" tab.

Mailbox Changes

The Mailbox has been automated to remove the tedium of manually collecting hundreds of bids and items.

The following types of letters are collected automatically. Just open the mail, and Ahplus will go through, collecting items and money and deleting letters.

The following types of letters are not automatically picked up. An expired auction indicates an incorrect price, and checking how much money you receive from a successful auction lets you know if it was bought out or went for a lower price. However, clicking on the icon in the list will take the item or money and delete the letter. You don't have to "read" the letter.

Options

Click the "Options" button to change Ahplus settings.

Bid on Click: If checked, clicking on a Bright Green, Green, or Yellow auction will bid on it. Uncheck if you don't want to click to bid.

Buy Out on Click: If checked, clicking on a Bright Green auction will buy it out. Uncheck if you don't want to click to buy out.

Take Items From Mail If checked, Ahplus will automatically collect items mailed from the Auction House.

Take Money From Mail If checked, Ahplus will automatically collect money mailed from the Auction House.

Show Price per Item: If checked, Ahplus will display the price per item, not the price of the whole stack. I find it very handy, but if you're short on cash, you may want to see how much the whole stack costs.

Initial Bid Price Multiplier: This slider affects the prices Ahplus fills in when you put an item in the "Auction Item" slot. The starting price can be between 5% and 100% of the buyout price.

Automatic Bid Limit: This slider affects how auctions are colored and which auctions the "Bid All" button will bid on.
Auctions with buyout prices between "Free" and the slider position are Bright Green.
Auctions with bid prices between "Free" and the slider position are Green.
Auctions with bid prices between the slider position and "Your Price" are Yellow.
Auctions with bid prices above "Your Price" are too expensive, and are not colored.
Moving the slider to the left reduces the number of auctions you bid on, but increases the profit you make on each auction.
Moving the slider to the right increases the number of auctions you bid on, but reduces the profit you make on each auction.
